Adopt a Border Collie from BCR
Adopting a Border Collie from BCR is a wonderful way to give a loving home to one of these intelligent, loyal, and energetic dogs. Our adoption process is designed to ensure that each dog is placed in a safe, suitable, and loving environment where they can thrive. Here’s how the adoption process works:
Step 1: Initial Contact
The first step in adopting a Border Collie is to get in touch with us. You can do this through our contact form, email, or phone. Once we receive your inquiry, we will send you an adoption application form.
Step 2: Application Form
The application form is a crucial part of the adoption process. It helps us understand your lifestyle, experience with dogs, and what you’re looking for in a pet. We encourage you to be as detailed as possible so we can match you with the right dog. Once completed, please return the form to us via email or mail.
Step 3: Property Check
After we receive your completed application, a member of our team will reach out to arrange a property check. This visit is simply to ensure that your home is safe and suitable for a Border Collie. We’ll check things like secure fencing, outdoor space, and other factors that contribute to the dog’s well-being. The property check is also an opportunity for you to ask any questions you might have about the breed or the adoption process.
Step 4: Meet and Greet
Once your property has been approved, the next step is to meet the dogs that are available for adoption. We will arrange a meet and greet, where you can spend time with the dogs and see which one bonds with you and your family. This step is vital for ensuring that both you and the dog are comfortable with the new arrangement.
Step 5: Finalizing the Adoption
If everything goes well during the meet and greet, and both parties feel that it’s a good match, we will finalize the adoption. You will be required to sign an adoption agreement, which outlines your responsibilities as the new owner. An adoption fee will also be collected, which helps us continue our work rescuing and rehoming Border Collies.
Step 6: Bringing Your New Friend Home
Congratulations! Once the adoption is finalized, you can bring your new Border Collie home. We will provide you with all the necessary information about their care, feeding, and any special needs they may have. Our team is always here to support you even after the adoption, so don’t hesitate to reach out if you need advice or assistance.
